Team Activated Charcoal will be traveling to Cape Canaveral, Florida to watch the launch of a rocket to the ISS. Their experiment will be amongst the few chosen to travel to the ISS for experimentation. The team will also have the opportunity to present at the Kennedy Space Station. Donations will help cover the cost of airfare, ground transportation, hotels, and meals. Thank you for supporting Team Activated Charcoal!eam Activated Charcoal
My name is Anastasiia Kartasheva and I'm in 8th grade. I really enjoy building, especially with legos. I also like to read books, mostly fiction. One of my favorite books is Legend by Marie Lu. I like how it has points of view from both characters and their emotions when they are experiencing the same thing. I’ve always liked to doodle random things on paper. The DreamUp project really pushed me to work harder and research more. This project was the hardest I've ever worked on. I spent everyday trying to find as much information as I could, emailing people, and asking my mom for help.
My name is Evan Wilson, I am in 8th. grade at CSA. Some hobbies I have are flying Rc Airplanes along with model rockets that I launch with my dad. I am interested in Math. Science through the DreamUp to Space program has inspired me to try my hardest to complete an assignment or project.
My name is Ike Cohn, I enjoy building computers, robots and other S.T.E.M. activities. I also enjoy sports such as lacrosse, football (irongrid/american), and baseball. The final things I enjoy are video games and anime such as naruto, bleach, and demon slayer. The DreamUp project seemed like such a big opportunity for me, as I am very passionate about S.T.E.M and space exploration. I was inspired by my dad, who had taught me a lot about activated charcoal beforehand, so I wanted to do this project based on that. I am also very excited about the opportunity to connect to professionals and people in the community. I want to thank my family for inspiring me to do this, especially my dad.
Hobbies: sports, board games, reading, space, writing, presenting, fundraising.
Working on my prior DreamUp project with lavender and unfortunately not getting picked, really influenced me to apply for team activated charcoal and help the team make it where they need.
I am Liam Lane of Colorado Skies Academy. I am in 7th grade, and I live in Arvada Colorado. I enjoy white water kayaking, mountain biking, and rock climbing. One of my favorite things to do is play video games with my friends.
One of my biggest aspirations is to become a pilot. This school encouraged me to pursue my dream. I am part of the Young Eagles program( the very start of any young pilots career) and was given the chance to pilot an aircraft with Major General Barry.
The DreamUp to Space project helped fuel my inspiration for space and gravity. I find gravity and how it affects different objects intriguing and fascinating. I believe this project will help me learn new things, find new inspirations and overall be a challenging rewarding experience.
My name is Marek Svatos, I'm in 7th grade and I love the idea of space and enjoy playing video games, soccer, and building legos. My love of space stemmed from Miles Insinger, my best friend and his interest to work at NASA. I was inspired to join the DreamUp to Space Launch Team when I found out the opportunities this could open for me with college and my dream to work at SpaceX.
My name is Miles Insinger and I am in seventh grade. I have always been good at math and science. In sixth grade, I researched trigonometry during indoor recess. The DreamUp project inspired me because I have always loved space and wanted a way to start getting experience. Marek Svatos and I have always worked together with math and space things, and we are going to make a model mars rover someday!
