side by side of CSA learners with their presentations of learning

Dear Colorado SKIES Academy Families,

This week is a big week at CSA, October Count! The first week of October is incredibly important for Colorado school funding. This is the week that attendance is carefully taken in every classroom across the state. The records are then closely reviewed to determine how many learners are actually attending every single school, which will determine how much funding each school will receive for the year. It is imperative that we have as many of our learners in attendance as possible this week, October 2-6, to be a part of this important process. This will help us ensure that we receive the appropriate amount of money from the State to fund our school – including paying our fantastic facilitators. Thank you for your support!

Next, please make sure to read about our upcoming weekly schedule for drone and flight simulator use at Exploration of Flight which starts October 23rd!

Finally, we are putting the call out for all CSA DADS to support our WATCH D.O.G.S. program at CSA! The Dads of Great Students WATCH D.O.G.S.® program is one of the nation’s largest and most respected school-based, family, and community engagement organizations designed and developed by educators, experts, and parent & guardian volunteers more than two decades ago. There are two primary goals of the program:

  • Provide positive male role models for learners, demonstrating by their presence that education is important.
  • Provide extra sets of eyes and ears to enhance school security and reduce bullying.
  • We’re asking for a CSA dad(s) to take on the role of Top Dog Coordinator and implement the program in our school. Please note: Training content, support materials, uniform apparel, and other promotional items are provided.

Please email info@coloradoskiesacademy.org if you’re able to lead or assist in this area.

In gratitude,
Directors Coryell and Motley
