Dear Colorado SKIES Academy Families,
We are now a couple weeks into the school year, and things are starting to settle in a little more. I’m happy to announce that PowerSchool and Schoology are up and running, so you should be able to see your learner’s information and schedule, including both core classes and electives. Some of the facilitator names you will see are “placeholders,” as we prioritized getting learner schedules loaded and available. Cherry Creek’s Admissions and IT teams are still working as quickly as they can to get the remainder of our learners and facilitators into the system, but things are definitely starting to smooth out!
Last week, our learners took MAP testing, which will allow us to be sure they are receiving instruction and support to fill in gaps and increase understanding this year! We know reading skills are closely tied to academic success, so learners will begin to be placed in reading groups during our afternoon Academic Core Connections period to ensure every single learner is provided the time to practice and improve.
We have a big week ahead of us before we all take a little break for Labor Day. We are planning for a community watch party this week celebrating the launch of the Artemis I rocket. While the launch was postponed today, the hope is that it will be rescheduled for Friday. Also on Friday, we have our Wingman for a Day event, welcoming guest learners into the building to see what sets us apart from other schools. It will be a fun week!

*Admittance to Exploration of Flight is free for CSA Learners with their student membership. The EoF staff has a list of current CSA learners so all they need to do is give their name!
New CSA families receive a 20% discount on family memberships to Wings Over the Rockies Museum, valid at both museum locations (Centennial & Lowry).
