Colorado SKIES Academy Families,
We hope you had a wonderful winter break and could reset and recharge with loved ones. Seeing the learners back at school and hearing about their adventures has been great. As you know, some learners’ schedules were changed for Quarter 3 based on their winter MAP scores to ensure they are receiving the support they need. We are only four days in, but things seem to be going well for learners and facilitators as they dive into the more complex concepts in their core classes. Please refer to the communication sent over the break for more information about the changes in staff and schedules for the 2nd quarter.
As you may know, our amazing science facilitator, Ms. Subba, is currently in India with some of our CSA learners, participating in several educational and cultural activities. They are gaining exposure to the tensile and compressive strengths of civil engineering materials, steel, concrete, hydraulics (force, motion, and energy), visiting the Microsoft India offices, and many other educational experiences. In addition, they will participate in academic exchange programs with different schools to exchange culture and traditions, visit the Body Mind and Soul Yoga Center at Aurobindo Ashram, and also Mangatrai Pearls And Jewels to learn about gold and the importance of gold in the Rocket Industry. We are receiving daily updates from Ms. Subba, who reports she and the learners are having a wonderful time and learning many things that they can share with our community. You can see some of the pictures in the collage of this message.
Please read the articles in this week’s message, including information about after-school clubs, Ms. Uta’s letter about Cooking Club for Quarter 3, the latest news from PAC (Parent Action Committee), information about school pictures, upcoming events details, and more.
In gratitude,
Directors Coryell and Motley
