Reschedule of Hearing and Vision Screening
Dear Parents and Guardians,
Unfortunately, the screening initially scheduled for December 21st needed to be rescheduled. I will be in touch very soon with the new date.
Vision and hearing are vital to your learner’s academic success in school. Schools are required to administer hearing and vision screenings to the following groups of learners each school year:
- All learners enrolled in Preschool, Kindergarten, 1st, 3rd, 5th, and 7th grades
- All learners who are newly enrolled in Cherry Creek School District
- All learners with special education services learners will be excluded from hearing screenings for the following reasons:
- The learner is deaf or hard of hearing and/or wears a listening device (will be referred to an audiologist)
- The parent informs the school nurse of the desire to have their learner excluded from testing
If your learner has documentation of medical vision and/or hearing testing within the last 12 months, we request that you provide a copy of the results to your school’s health office.
If you would like to exclude your learner from screening, please reach out to me via email.
