Thank you for honoring CSA staff with gifts, treats and inspiring messages in celebration of National Staff Appreciation Week last week.
Friday, April 30, was the perfect day for CSA learners to Paint the Skies. The Color Run fundraiser is a yearly event to promote a healthy lifestyle and raise funds for ongoing school programs and projects. Congratulations to the top three CSA fundraisers: Tyler Coryell (first place), Marlo Steen (second place), and Dean Koutouras (third place). Thank you, families, parents, facilitators, and learners, for a great day. Over $12,000 was raised for CSA!
8th Grade Graduation & Celebration
As the school year winds down, we are looking forward to some well-deserved celebrations. Friday, May 21, will be the final day of school for all 8th graders, and their graduation will be the same day at 1:30 p.m. at Wings Over the Rockies. Families planning to attend this event should look for detailed communication regarding participation.
A special celebration has been organized for our 8th graders on Tuesday, May 25, 2021, at Boondocks. Transportation will be provided from CSA to Boondocks. A bus will leave CSA at 11:30 a.m. Parents will need to pick up learners from Boondocks by 4:00 p.m. Chaperones are needed for this event. Please contact Teresa at the CSA office to join the fun as a volunteer.
MAP Testing
CSA learners will be participating in MAP Testing on May 17, 19, and 20. MAP testing is a norm-referenced assessment used to demonstrate growth in reading, language arts, and math over the school year. Parents and families will be receiving MAP results as part of each learner’s final report of process. These will come home with their report cards.
Save the Date: Presentations of Learning
All CSA learners will participate in fourth quarter virtual Presentations of Learning (POLs) on Friday, May 14, 2021. Please check with your child’s facilitator to get the Zoom link for this event.
Reminder: Assignment Deadline
All fourth quarter assignments are due on Friday, May 17.
Chromebook Return
Each learner will need to return their Chromebook in order to graduate and/or receive a report card!
More details to come, but please be aware that the next Presentation of Learning for 6th grade will be on Tuesday, March 5th and for 7th grade on Wednesday, March 6th.
*Admittance to Exploration of Flight is free for CSA Learners with their student membership. The EoF staff has a list of current CSA learners so all they need to do is give their name!
New CSA families receive a 20% discount on family memberships to Wings Over the Rockies Museum, valid at both museum locations (Centennial & Lowry). A daily entry fee may also be paid to gain entry to the events at the museum. Please contact christa.coryell@coloradoskiesacademy.org for more information about museum memberships for CSA families.
