Dear Colorado SKIES Academy Families,
Can you believe that we are only 15 days away from the first day of school on August 14th?! Every day that passes, I have more amazing updates to share with all of you, and this week’s newsletter is packed full of terrific and exciting Back to School news! I also have some fantastic pictures to share with you from the Drone Soccer competition where our Top Drone team competed against four other area schools at Wings Over the Rockies Air & Space Museum on Saturday, July 22.
We have made many improvements to our school’s website over the last week:
Important reminder: All families, returning and new, must update and complete their Parent Forms each year before their child(ren) can attend school. This webpage includes information about Parent Forms for the 2023-24 school year. Parent Forms can be accessed from within PowerSchool. To access the PowerSchool SIS: Parents tile, please login to the MyCherryCreek Parent Portal. Please note that the Parent/Guardian who starts the Parent Forms must complete them. For Parent Portal and Additional Parent Forms Documents and Useful Links click here.
Remember to mark your calendars for Wednesday, August 9th! We will host new learners and families from 3:30-5:30 pm to review CSA school policies, share our school culture and community, explore our learning environment, and other orientation topics that are important to know as a CSA learner and family. The CSA Back to School Block Party will be from 5:45-7:45 pm, and that will be your opportunity to handle any last-minute paperwork, meet the facilitators, learn more about CSA’s parent-organized carpool system, get your carline number for learner pickup, and more! Please look at the Fall Return Dates for logistical information and details on the fun activities we will be hosting. Please look at the Back to School Dates article below for more information on the logistics and fun activities at this event.
We have two family nights remaining before school starts, and I hope to see you at one of them where we’ll be creating Cartesian divers with Ms. Motley on August 1st and building land rovers with Ms. Gispan on August 8th! We will continue to provide information about our Civil Air Patrol squadron partnership with contact information so you can get your questions answered and learn more about meetings and logistics. You can visit this link to learn more about the national program, and this link will give you a glimpse into the local squadron that CSA partners with. There is pizza, drinks, and snacks available for purchase, and we have a wheel spin for CSA swag!
We are always looking for parent and learner volunteers to help us during our recruiting and community-building events so please visit this signup genius link to see other places that we’ll be this summer and sign up to help get the word out about our fantastic school! More learners in our program mean more opportunities to offer electives and clubs at CSA.
I hope you’ll join me at an event or two to share your experience at CSA. As always, please feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions or concerns. In the meantime, please check out the “Upcoming Events” calendar as well as the detailed articles below for more information regarding:
Sincerely,
Christa
