The CSA building- large, cylinder shaped building with learners walking in front of it

Dear Colorado Skies Academy Families,

I am thrilled to announce that the Cherry Creek School District has extended our charter! Charter renewal is always a long and challenging process, and our bid would not have been successful without the help and support of everyone in our community. Thank you for your patience and understanding, providing reviews and testimonials, volunteer efforts, and most of all, for entrusting your precious children to our care! CSA is an amazing place, and we look forward to continuing to grow and educate middle school learners for years to come.

There are a few big events this week that I want to be sure are on your radar:

  1. There will be NO SCHOOL on Monday, February 20 in observance of Presidents’ Day
  2. School will be in session on Tuesday, February 21.
  3. We will be holding a Lockdown Drill on Tuesday, February 21 in partnership with the CCSD Security team and local law enforcement. We urge every student to participate to ensure they receive important training and feedback in the event of an emergency situation inside the school building. We recommend that parents spend a few minutes preparing their child for this event by discussing the importance of practicing to stay safe. (There are more details in the mini-article below.)

Additionally, please check out the “Upcoming Events” calendar as well as the detailed articles below for more information regarding:

  • Lockdown Drill - Tuesday, February 21
  • Parent Town Hall February 16 - Recording Link
  • Learner-Led Conferences
  • Classroom Disruption Reminders
  • Thought of the Week

Thank you for your attention to these important issues; as always, feel free to reach out to me with additional questions and concerns!

Sincerely, Katie
