The CSA building- large, cylinder shaped building with learners walking in front of it

Dear Colorado SKIES Academy Families,

I hope that you all are soaking up the last week of summer vacation before school starts on Monday, August 14th! This week's Monday Message is full of important Back to School news and school updates to start the year off strong.

The last CSA Summer Night featuring a STEM Space Lander Challenge is Tuesday, August 8th from 6-7:30 pm. As always, there will be pizza, drinks, and snacks available for purchase, and a wheel spin for a chance to win CSA swag!

The New Family Orientation and Back to School Block Party is Wednesday, August 9th starting at 3:30 pm. The New Family Orientation will be from 3:30-5:30 pm and families will review CSA school policies, learn about our school culture and community, explore our learning environment, and complete other orientation topics that are important to know as a CSA learner and family. The CSA Back to School Block Party will be from 5:45-7:45 pm and families will have a chance to handle any last-minute paperwork, meet the facilitators, learn more about CSA’s parent-organized carpool system, get your carline number for learner pickup, and more! *Please see the Back to School Dates article below for more information on the logistics and fun activities at this event.

Important reminder: All families, returning and new, must update and complete their Parent Forms each year before their child(ren) can attend school. This webpage includes information about Parent Forms for the 2023-24 school year. Parent Forms can be accessed from within PowerSchool. To access the PowerSchool SIS: Parents tile, please login to the MyCherryCreek Parent Portal. Please note that the Parent/Guardian who starts the Parent Forms must complete them. For Parent Portal and Additional Parent Forms Documents and Useful Links click here.

Additionally, we have made many improvements to our school’s website over the last week:

  • Learner fees can be paid here.
  • Punch passes for after-school clubs can be purchased here.
  • Carpool signup is now done via our website. If you previously completed the Google form sign-up, please redo your information on the website in order to see the most up-to-date information for the 2023-2024 school year. Once the form is completed, a link to the map will show on the screen and is also sent to you in an email.
  • The CSA Spirit Store is now live directly through our website! I ordered a new CSA notebook and water bottle for the upcoming school days. Let me know what fun new items you decide on! If there’s anything you’d like to see in the store that isn’t there currently, please email to request your item be added.
  • As stated last week, the revised Family Guidebook was board approved at the last meeting and has been published on the website here. This includes the continued policy of having school fees in lieu of a school supply list. For the 2023/2024 academic year, fees are $200 per learner. Please refer to the family guidebook for more information.

We are always looking for parent and learner volunteers to help us during our recruiting and community-building events so please visit this signup genius link to see other places that we’ll be this summer and sign up to help get the word out about our fantastic school! More learners in our program mean more opportunities to offer electives and clubs at CSA.

As always, please feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions or concerns. In the meantime, please check out the “Upcoming Events” calendar as well as the detailed articles below for more information regarding:

  • Last CSA Summer Night
  • Back to School Dates
  • 2023-24 Schedule Changes

Sincerely, Christa
