Dear Colorado SKIES Academy Community,
Opening day has finally arrived! Monday, August 19th, is National Aviation Day and Colorado SKIES Academy is cleared for takeoff!
There is a host of wonderful plans in place for all of our learners along with creating a sense of community within each squadron (group of learners) as well as our overall school. As the first group to help start the school, we will be looking to our learners to help us establish the identity and the traditions of the school. Every learner will be actively involved in helping identify the school mascot, important traditions to establish in the school, and important traditions to establish by grade level. It is an exciting time to be part of a startup school!
As you know by now, we will be starting our first week in the Blue Skies Gallery Exploration of Flight, including a field day on Thursday at Dove Valley Regional Park. Completion of the modulars is still targeted for Monday, August 26th, with the plan that we will be able to occupy them starting that day. JHL and all of their contractors are working hard to make this date. Please stay tuned for a progress update after the weekly construction meeting on Thursday, August 22nd. I will send out a communication via SchoolMint after the meeting so you have current information for the following week. As we continue through this school year with the construction of the permanent building, please be sure to access the JHL construction link, coming soon to our website.
We had a phenomenal turnout at our Saturday Meet & Greet the Facilitators and Grand Opening. It was so special to have the opportunity to meet many of our CSA families! I cannot wait to meet more of you. See you at the dropoff line tomorrow morning!
Ready for Takeoff!
