Greetings and happy summer CSA families, parents, and learners!
The summer athletic development program has commenced. We are putting in great training, and effort and we are already seeing big results. The SKIES Athletic Development team will be training at Colorado SKIES Academy twice a week and off-site once a week on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. We will use our training mats and remain at the school, running sprints indoors and utilizing the grass field behind the school. For the end of our sessions, we will utilize the “Cyclone Performance Center” (Mr. Cronin’s room, converted into a physical therapy-style athletic development office).
This summer we have focused on the following areas:
- Remedial acquisition of skill/coordination, sprint drills, and neuromechanics.
- General strength routines during warmups and hip activations to achieve anatomical shifts.
- Low-volume introductory Speed training using maximum velocity training of Fly 10s and uphill sprints between 5-10 meters.
- Weighted vest squats and lunges for strength and strength endurance.
As the summer progresses so will the training to higher volumes and stimulus applied.
Want to learn more about this program? Here is the website for the program which is under construction but still accessible for certain pages. I can be reached at shane.cronin@coloradoskiesacademy.org if you are interested in signing up.
Let’s all finish summer on a high note whatever adventures you are taking!
“FAMILY!!!”
