Dear Parents/Guardians,
Keeping learners healthy, both in and out of school, is important to their education. The flu season rapidly approaching and I would like to remind families about the Center for Disease Control (CDC)’s suggested ways to prevent the spread of the seasonal cold and flu virus.
These suggestions include:
- Frequent Hand washing.
- Cover your cough with your elbow or tissue.
- Stay home if you are sick or have a fever.
- Avoid touching your eye, nose, or mouth.
- Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces at home, work, or school, especially when someone is ill.
- Get plenty of sleep, be physically active, drink plenty of fluids, and eat nutritious food.
- Get the annual influenza vaccine.
The flu vaccine is readily available in the community from:
- Your Health Care Provider
- Local Pharmacies/Hospitals
- No and Low-Cost Vaccines
Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or concerns.
Sincerely,
Emma Wiest, RN, BSN
