Colorado SKIES Academy Families,
We are so proud of our CSA learners and the amazing job they did in their Presentation of Learning project presentations last week! The growing knowledge and confidence was evident in every learner, and everyone learned so much throughout the experience.
There is lots of information to share with you this week, all the topics and links are included below:
CSA’s Learner Ambassadors worked with our student body to create Halloween Spirit Week this week! We are so excited to see our learners have some fun and dress up for spirit days! More information about Friday’s Dia de los Muertos celebration can be found here.
Attention 8th Grade Families: Exciting news! CSA’s second high school transition fair is this Tuesday, October 29th, from 5:00-7:00 pm in the CSA Village. Historically, about ⅓ of our learners move on to a Colorado Early Colleges high school campus. The Douglas County North campus will be in attendance on Tuesday, and they are less than 5 minutes from CSA, so we hope to see you there! They will also have contact information for the other campuses in the metro area including Castle Rock, Aurora, and online.
CSA learners expressed interest in helping the school communities affected by the recent hurricanes so our amazing CSA Learner Ambassadors have organized this school supply drive.
Please remind your learners about our co-pilot shadow days where they can earn their wings! As a proud CSA learner, we are recruiting them to invite friends, neighbors, and relatives to climb into the cockpit and see how an aviation & aerospace-focused 6-8th grade education takes flight at Colorado SKIES Academy! Guests will shadow as a “Co-Pilot for a Day” and get an up-close encounter with classes, projects, and facilitators. They will experience firsthand the unique learning opportunities your learner is experiencing every day here at Colorado SKIES Academy. Each co-pilot will receive a CSA swag.
Colorado SKIES Academy is so honored to partner with Wings Over the Rockies for their Fall Food Drive! We will have a donation box in the office to collect accepted food items. To close out the drive, there is a really fun event planned, Build an Airplane from Food at the Exploration of Flight on November 23rd from 11:00 am – 1:30 pm.
Please reach out to us if you have any questions or concerns. We’re always here to support you and your learner and are excited to soar to new heights together!
In partnership, Directors Coryell and Motley
