Dear Colorado Skies Academy Families,

From the moment our learners step onto the Colorado Skies Academy campus, we nurture a culture that celebrates the power of curiosity and innovation. We believe these qualities are not just desirable traits, but essential life skills crucial for navigating our rapidly changing world. The middle school years, in particular, represent a pivotal time for discovery and self-expression. It’s a period where questioning, experimenting, and embracing the unknown are not merely encouraged, but actively championed.

We understand that innovation isn’t confined to the realm of science labs or technological advancements. It’s a process that unfolds in every aspect of life – from tackling complex academic challenges to collaborating on creative projects, from problem-solving in everyday scenarios to expressing individual perspectives through diverse artistic mediums. It thrives on the “why” and “what if” questions that drive exploration and understanding.

At Colorado Skies Academy, we foster an environment where risk-taking is not penalized, but valued as a stepping stone towards learning and growth. We embrace the inevitable mistakes along the way, understanding that they serve as invaluable learning opportunities. We draw inspiration from history’s greatest innovators—individuals who dared to question conventional wisdom and embrace unconventional approaches. We aim to instill this same courage and confidence in our learners, empowering them to approach challenges as fertile ground for innovation and to confidently contribute their unique perspectives to the world.

More than simply imparting knowledge, we strive to cultivate a lifelong love of learning. We encourage our learners to continuously explore their interests, to remain inquisitive, and to never cease expanding their horizons. We believe the seeds of future breakthroughs and leadership are sown in the fertile ground of curiosity and unwavering intellectual exploration.

We invite you, as parents, to become active partners in this journey. Engage with your children’s ideas; encourage their experiments, however small; and celebrate their inventive thinking, even when it falls short of expectation. By working together, we can foster a community that nurtures the next generation of creative thinkers, innovative problem-solvers, and compassionate leaders.

Thank you for being a part of the Colorado Skies Academy community.

In partnership,
Director Christa Coryell, Campus Director Meredith Motley, & Chief of Staff Jennifer Tilghman (Author of the Weekly Flight Path)
