Colorado SKIES Academy Families,

We had an exciting week last week at Colorado SKIES Academy! Our Learners did a wonderful job sharing their projects with families during their Presentation of Learning (POL). We are so proud of their hard work and accomplishments! Photos from the event can be found here. 

The CSA Learner Ambassadors put on a Winter Dance on December 13. The theme of the dance was The Nightmare Before Christmas. Thank you to all that gave graciously of their time to chaperone, donate food, drinks, music, decorations, and set-up & clean-up! We were able to take a few photos and have added the photo gallery here. Thank you for all that you do for CSA and all the learners!

The Parent Action Committee at CSA has a Faculty & Staff Breakfast on Friday, December 20. We invite you to join in the joy! If you would like to contribute, please click here to review the available slots and sign up. Any gifts can be dropped off at the front office by 12/17 and food items by 12/19. Thank you for your support in making this holiday season special for our CSA staff!

Reminder that this is the last week to donate to the CSA School Supply Drive organized by CSA learners! Please this school supply drive.

CSA learners have also organized Winter Spirit Week that starts this Monday, December 16th. CSA staff is so excited to see all of our learners in their spirit wear each day!

We are happy to announce a new addition to our school library – a Family Resource Section! This special area is stocked with a wide range of resources designed to support and engage families, including:

• Parenting books and guides
• Educational games and activities
• Mental health and wellness materials
• Resources on academic support and learning strategies
• Books for shared family reading

Our goal is to provide tools and materials that strengthen family connections and help support learning and growth at home. These resources are available for families to check out just like any other library materials. We encourage you to stop by the library to explore these offerings and discover how they can support your family’s needs.

Please remind your learners about our co-pilot shadow days where they can earn their wings! As a proud CSA learner, we are recruiting them to invite friends, neighbors, and relatives to climb into the cockpit and see how an aviation & aerospace-focused 6-8th grade education takes flight at Colorado SKIES Academy! Guests will shadow as a “Co-Pilot for a Day” and get an up-close encounter with classes, projects, and facilitators. They will experience firsthand the unique learning opportunities your learner is experiencing every day here at Colorado SKIES Academy. Each co-pilot will receive a CSA swag.

A friendly reminder to regularly check the CSA Community Calendar that usually includes the upcoming POL details, MAP testing dates, and other school events such as Tour and Co-Pilot days. Please reach out to us if you have any questions or concerns. We’re always here to support you and your learner and are excited to soar to new heights together!

As we approach the holiday season, please note that our holiday break begins on December 19, which marks the last day of school for learners and the end of Quarter 2. We will see all learners back at CSA on Tuesday, January 7, 2025. Everyone here at Colorado SKIES Academy wishes you and your families a wonderful holiday break! We hope you can use this time to relax, recharge, and enjoy each other’s company.
