Colorado SKIES Academy Families,
It was a busy week at CSA with the CSI Board of Directors presentation on Tuesday afternoon, our Star Search hiring event on Wednesday, and the CSI capacity interview with the CSA administration and board on Thursday. We would again like to publicly recognize our staff, as they worked incredibly hard and did a fantastic job to ensure that our learners stayed on task and on schedule while the administration handled the business side of the school! We hope you enjoy the pictures of the Glow Party that Mrs. Pierce gave the learners in celebration of finishing CMAS!
CSA Charter Authorization Transfer Next Steps: As mentioned above, CSA has now completed all of the required steps to provide the necessary information to CSI staff so they can develop a recommendation to give their board of directors next month. The immediate next step is for CSI staff to provide their draft recommendation to CSA on May 10th, and they will review the detailed document with the board committee on May 14th. The CSI Board will hear the committee recommendation and vote on the school’s transfer application on May 21st.
CALLING ALL PARENTS AND FAMILIES! CSA has a second Star Search hiring event on Wednesday, May 1st. We’re looking for three parents to participate in the day from roughly 8 am – 5 pm and provide their feedback on the candidates. You’re welcome to join us for any or all of the day! Please email christa.coryell@coloradoskiesacademy.org if you’re able to assist with this unique event to identify the additional facilitators and staff that will support your learners next year.
As mentioned last week, the CSA Community Calendar now includes each grade level’s end-of-year experience field trip (6th, 7th, 8th Day 1 & 8th Day 2), the all-school Boondocks field trip, 8th-grade graduation, and more. The last Presentation of Learning days have also been added to the calendar (6th POL: Poetry Slam, 7th POL: Mutations/Microgravity, 8th POL: Glider Planes).
Have a great week!
In gratitude,
Directors Coryell and Motley
