At Colorado Skies Academy, we are proud to highlight the incredible educators who make a difference in our learners’ lives every day. This month, we shine the spotlight on Donald Eldridge, one of our dedicated math facilitators.
Donald’s journey to becoming an educator is truly inspiring. A graduate of Shepherd High School in Montana, he waited 10 years before attending the University of Montana, unsure if he was strong enough in math to succeed in college. Now, after 22 years in education, he is a highly qualified math facilitator, proving that perseverance and dedication can overcome any obstacle.
For 18 of those years, Donald taught in remote bush villages of Alaska, where every fall, he and his dogs would be flown into a village with his suitcase, only to be picked up again nine months later. His commitment to education and adventurous spirit have shaped his approach to teaching, making him a valued member of our CSA community.
Beyond the classroom, Donald is passionate about sustainability and giving back. He recently spearheaded a clothing recycling drive in connection with our sixth-grade Presentation of Learning (POL) on changing human waste behaviors to help protect the environment. We encourage families to support this initiative by dropping off gently used clothing items in the green bin located in the parking lot. All proceeds will help fund our end-of-year activities! Please see the PDF below to learn more.
Thank you, Donald, for your dedication to education, sustainability, and our CSA community. We are grateful to have you on our team!
