At Colorado Skies Academy, we are fortunate to have passionate and dedicated facilitators who inspire our learners every day. One such facilitator is Mrs.Emily Thain, whose greatest joy comes from watching learners get excited about topics they truly care about. Mrs. Thain is our 6th grade Social Studies Facilitator as well as Gifted & Talented & ELD Coordinator. She loves seeing curiosity ignite and helping learners dive deeper into their passions.
Mrs. Thain is a strong advocate for her learners, encouraging them to find their voices and confidently express their needs and goals. She understands the importance of advocacy firsthand, as she has had influential teachers in her own life who guided her along the way. She knows she wouldn’t be where she is today without their support, and she strives to be that person for her learners.
Outside of the classroom, Mrs. Thain enjoys spending time with her family, going on walks with her dogs, and embarking on mini adventures. One very special companion in her life is Medusa, her certified medical alert dog. Medusa, a Golden Retriever and Australian Shepherd mix, was rescued from a shelter just three days after being abandoned. With her heart of gold and friendly nature, she has never met a stranger! This year, Medusa will turn four years old and continues to amaze Mrs. Thain with her intelligence and loving spirit.
Every morning, Medusa eagerly comes to school, just as excited as the learners to start the day. More than just a friendly face, Medusa plays a crucial role as Mrs. Thains medical alert dog for her brain disorder. She brings comfort and joy not only to her but to everyone she meets.
Mrs. Thains dedication, kindness, and passion for education make her an invaluable part of our community. We are so grateful to have her and Medusa brightening our school each day!
