Did you know that the end of September and the beginning of October is incredibly important for Colorado school funding? This is the time that very careful attendance is taken in every classroom across the state and records are reviewed to determine how many students are actually attending every single school – and thus, how much funding each school will receive for the year.
On average, schools in Colorado receive $11,000 per pupil in operating revenue when students are enrolled, scheduled, and in attendance on the count day. This accounts for roughly 95% of CSA’s funding.
We must have as many of our learners in attendance between September 24th and October 8th as possible. This will help us ensure that we receive the appropriate amount of money from the State to fund our school – including paying our fantastic facilitators.
Thank you for bringing your learner to school as often as possible during this time to be a part of this important process!
