Ashley Purviance has worked for A.T. Still University of Health Sciences for the past decade and is the Director of Accreditation and Compliance for the university’s College for Healthy Communities. In this role, she oversees all aspects of program accreditation, new program development, and policy compliance for the college’s medical science degree programs.
Before her career in the academic realm, Ms. Purviance was an insurance defense attorney in Boston, Massachusetts. In this capacity, she represented clients as a National Coordinating Counsel team member for a significant pump supplier to US Navy ships. She also worked as a national legal research and writing specialist, drafting trial and appellate documents for clients nationwide in state and federal courts. In addition to insurance defense, Ms. Purviance proudly worked on family, election, and municipal law matters.
Ms. Purviance holds a Bachelor’s and Master of Arts in English Literature from Arizona State University and a Juris Doctorate from Roger Williams University School of Law. She was a visiting scholarship graduate student at St. Catharine’s College, University of Cambridge in Cambridge, UK, and holds numerous national legal research and writing awards and several US and state Congressional citations for community outreach and legal work with underserved populations.
Ms. Purviance lives with her husband and two young children.
