Colorado SKIES Academy Families,
It’s going to be a great week packed full of learning activities and check-ins. We have our final Spring MAP testing, where learners will complete one test area per day Monday through Thursday starting at 8:10 am. Please have them to school on time so we can minimize disruptions during testing. The 6th-grade Presentation of Learning (POL) on sustainability is on Tuesday, March 5th, from 10:00-11:30 am, and the 7th-grade POL on birds is on Wednesday, March 6th, from 10:00-11:30 am. There will be an orientation for parents and guests at 9:55 am in the Village before returning to visit the POLs. We will end the week with Learner Led Conferences on Thursday after school and Friday. If you haven’t received the sign-up link from your learner’s Flight Crew Commander (Advisory class) to schedule a time, please contact them directly. Also, a friendly reminder that there is no school for learners on Friday, March 8th.
We are excited to celebrate Women’s History Month in March, will be using NASA facts as inspiration for discussion with learners, and will continue our social-emotional learning practices. We are committed to ensuring our students learn to lead, be self-directed, and develop their emotional IQ in a way that inspires creativity and engagement in their coursework. We believe it’s vital to help learners develop the skills of social awareness, self-management, regulation of emotions, and self-awareness early so they can begin to weave these abilities through every facet of their lives.
Please be aware that all missing or late assignments for Quarter 3 need to be turned in by March 11th.
Please read the articles in this week’s message, including information about Therapy Dog Thursdays, the quarter 4 Cooking Club on Mondays, the latest news from Athletic Development, the many ways to support CSA facilitators and learners through tax-deductible donations, upcoming events details, and more.
Have a great week!
In gratitude,
Directors Coryell and Motley
