Dear Colorado SKIES Academy Families,
Thank you so much for your assistance in ensuring that your learner was present in school as much as possible last week for the October count! As we mentioned, the state of Colorado uses the data from last week’s attendance to determine the funding amount that each school in the state receives so it’s a really important time.
Please remember that any learner remaining at school after 3:45 p.m. will be sent to the after-school club and be charged a punch for the day. Any learners who are at CSA after 5:00 p.m. will be charged an additional punch for the day. Thank you for your cooperation in ensuring that our school runs smoothly and effectively.
An important reminder that all assignments for Quarter 1 are due no later than Monday, October 9th at 4 p.m. to allow facilitators adequate time for grading and posting of final grades before the quarter ends on Thursday. You will be able to see Quarter 1 grades in PowerSchool after Fall Break. Please remember that this Friday, October 13th, is a facilitator work day and there is no school for learners.
Please read the articles in this week’s message including our upcoming events for Monday’s 7th-grade Presentation of Learning, Battle for Survival: How Do We Win in Microgravity? and Wednesday’s 8th-grade Presentation of Learning, How Can We Use Aerodynamics to Pursue Our Dreams?. All families are invited to attend the POLs and hear all about the effects of zero gravity on the human body and advanced aerospace topics like rocketry!
Also, be sure to read the Quarter 2 update from Ms. Uta about the after-school cooking club on Mondays and the finalized weekly schedule for drone and flight simulator use at Exploration of Flight, starting on October 23rd.
Lastly, CSA DADS: we need your help to support our WATCH D.O.G.S. program at CSA! Please click here and learn about how you can support this amazing initiative at CSA.
In gratitude,
Directors Coryell and Motley
