Acting Director Christa’s Message

Dear Colorado SKIES Academy Families,

It was so great to see some of you at our first CSA Summer Nights event Wednesday! Thank you very much to all who joined and spread the word about these unique events. We had quite a few families in our building learning about the forces of flight with Ms. McGuire, hearing about the amazing accomplishments and industry opportunities from our drone soccer team, touring our uniquely designed learning spaces, and coming together in our community space to enjoy pizza, snacks, and drinks. We even got to cheer on our Denver Nuggets as they won game 3 of the NBA Finals! Go Nuggets!

I hope to see you all again at our next Summer Nights event on June 14th when we learn about human anatomy. Future Summer Nights topics include 3D design and laser cutting, piloting jet fighters, and rocket engineering! If you’re interested in Civil Air Patrol, a few cadets will join each family night and answer questions, talk about their experiences, and provide more information about meetings and logistics. Pizza, drinks, and snacks will be always available for purchase at each event. In the coming weeks, we will also have a wheel spin prize table to give attendees a chance to win CSA swag!

I hope all of you are enjoying the slower summer months and time with family and friends. If you’re on the hunt for a great aviation-themed read, I just started Code Name Verity by Elizabeth Wein and am really enjoying it! If you check it out, send me an email, and let me know what you think. As always, please feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions or concerns.

In the meantime, please check out the “Upcoming Events” calendar as well as the detailed articles below for more information regarding:
