Cell Project Colorado Skies Academy

Director’s Message

Dear CSA Families,

We hope your learners are enjoying every day at Colorado SKIES Academy.  We invite you to join us in celebrating our learners’ growth, hard work and problem-solving.  Next week, one of the highlighted activities will be the collaboration and sharing of Individualized Learning Plans (ILPs).  Our learners are working to create their plan and then share it with you on September 23 or 24 at home. ILPs are composed in a digital portfolio that will be changing and updated frequently throughout the year.

As your learner shares their portfolio with you, please look for the five specifics below:

  •  Learner Goals for the 2021-2022 School Year
  • The CSA Learner Character Card
  • Learner MAP Scores for Fall 2021
  • Seven Habits of Highly Effective Teens
  • Note that the remaining slides will be completed later during the year

We are asking that you confirm your at home conference with your learner by signing and returning this form by Tuesday, September 28, 2021.

Our facilitators will be available to support your at home conferences and answer your questions.  Please reach out to your child’s facilitator by email, Schoology or contact the Colorado SKIES Academy School office at (720) 400 -7612 .

As always, if I can help in any way, please let me know.

Sincerely,

Anne Wodetzki

Weather Balloon Launch

Save the Date….Get excited for the sixth grade weather balloon launch! On October 1st, we will be launching two weather balloons with sixth grade learner experiments attached. We are inviting parents to join us in this fun and engaging event. The CSA Balloon Launch will take place at Exploration of Flight – Wings Over the Rockies.  Each balloon will have a frame with a camera, temperature/pressure sensor, satellite tracker, and of course our learner’s projects. The time of launch will be announced as we draw closer to the day.  See you there!

Picture Retakes with Lifetouch

School pictures are still available to order – please visit mylifetouch.com. If you were not here for the first day of school, or would like a retake, Lifetouch will be at CSA on September 20, 2021. Those families interested in retakes will need to return their original school photo taken on August 16.
