Dear Colorado SKIES Academy Parents and Supporters,
Over the last few weeks, I’ve had the pleasure of speaking with several parents who’ve enrolled their learners at Colorado SKIES Academy or are still in the process of deciding. The interesting thing about these conversations is the variety of reasons why families are sending their children to CSA. Each discussion has been unique, just like all of our learners. While some have expressed their interest in the aviation and aerospace-themed curriculum, or project-based learning, others are just looking for a new or unique school culture. I’ve spoken to parents who’ve been homeschooling their learners while looking for a school that can support their child’s advanced academic progress, families with kids who have special needs that aren’t being met, or kids who are experiencing behavior from their peers that has led to frustration, sadness, and disengagement.
All of these discussions have reinforced the idea that CSA isn’t just offering another school choice for parents to consider. Rather, CSA is filling a critical educational and social-emotional need for children who aren’t getting the support they deserve. With that being said, I would love to hear more about your unique “why” as it relates to enrolling your child at CSA. As families make decisions about where they send their children to school, it would be helpful for them to hear some of your reasons.
If you’re willing to email me an answer to the question, “Why did you enroll your child at CSA?,” I can compile these responses and share them with prospective families during future conversations. All of the responses will be shared anonymously to preserve confidentiality. I think this would be a fantastic resource for families who are still making up their minds, and it would be a huge help to Colorado SKIES Academy.
