Message from the Director, Suzanne Acheson

Dear Colorado SKIES Academy Families and Communities,

With each passing day, the anticipation and excitement of our first day is growing! We had our second Parent Forum and had another fabulous turnout! The enthusiasm and eagerness are contagious. The CSA Board of Directors was there, and they were so pleased to see the turnout from our CSA community. It was a true return on their investment of hours and hours of hard work in supporting and building the school to this point. Last week, our facilitators (teachers) were preparing for our learners and creating a schedule of activities and learning that will set the tone for a dynamic school year.

As a new school with all of us being new to one another, new to our school location, and new to having the pleasure of talking about aviation and aerospace every day, it is essential that we build a strong community. In these weeks that have led to preparing for our opening day, I have also learned that the aeronautics community is a small, tightly knit community. It is filled with talented people and companies who are thrilled about our school and anxiously waiting in the wings until we take flight on August 19th. They are ready to volunteer, visit, provide field trip opportunities, and the list goes on.

We are getting ready for a fantastic opening day on Monday, August 19th.  And what better day to open Colorado SKIES Academy than on National Aviation Day!

Kind Regards,

Suzanne E. Acheson, M. Ed.
