Individualized Educational Plan (IEP)
IEPs are the special education plans to serve and support children with special needs, learning disabilities, or other learning challenges like Autism Spectrum Disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, dyslexia, etc… Colorado Skies has a full special education team to meet the needs and service the IEPs of learners in attendance through direct instruction both inside and outside of the classroom.
504 Plans
504 plans are for students who have a disability but do not require additional services to access their education. Sometimes these are referred to as “accommodation plans,” because of the accommodations written into the plan that allows the students better access to their education based on the needs of their disability.
Gifted & Talented
Gifted and Talented students qualify for an Advanced Learning Plan through academic and cognitive testing. They must score above the 95th %ile in one or more areas to be considered for qualification. Once qualified, the student, teacher and GT coordinator will meet to write the learning plan where the student creates their own goals to advance their learning in the identified areas of strength.
Federal Counts of Non-white Students
Non-White students at CSA have been increasing which helps meet our goals of creating a diverse and inclusive culture, and our vision of seeing all learners being provided with the opportunity to explore, develop, and achieve their dreams in aerospace and beyond.
Free and Reduced Lunch (FRL)
The Free and Reduced Lunch comes from an application process through our food program where children who are economically disadvantaged receive not only free meals at school, but also have all fees waived for supplies, technology, and after school care. It is our goal to provide opportunities in the aerospace field to students who otherwise may not have access.
English Language Learner (ELL)
Our English Language Learners are those who have Limited English Proficiency and who may also speak a primary language other than English at home. They are screened and then given services with our English Language Development Coordinator according to their needs and levels. All students are integrated into our classrooms and provided additional language supports in the classroom to help with their English language acquisition and fluency.
