A Message from the Director

Greetings, CSA Community!

Thank you all for your support and flexibility as we transitioned to many different protocols for drop-off and pick-up procedures within the school for our learners, and thank you for your patience as we all transitioned back to in-person learning. It was so much like the first week of school, but in January instead. Just another reminder that this school year is unlike any other that all of us have ever experienced.

This Monday Message is coming to you midweek, as there were a few items needing verification on Monday to provide you with accurate information. Thank you for your patience.

8th Grade Graduates

CSA is fortunate to have learners going to a variety of high schools — public, charter, and online. We have polled our 8th graders to find out what high schools we need to reach out to for additional information. Some of our learners have already signed up for their classes and/or registered with their high school of choice. Other schools have contacted us asking us to collect forms from their rising new freshmen and send the forms to them directly. (For example, Cherry Creek High School has requested that we collect their form available on PowerSchool for those learners identified as attending CCHS next year. CSA will send the forms to CCHS on Friday, February 5. If your son or daughter is attending CCHS, please be sure to fill out the CCHS form and drop it off at the Main Office before Friday.)

Other schools, both in Cherry Creek School District and outside of Cherry Creek School District, are providing us with information and we will be sharing what we know with 8th grade families as we get it.

Star Search: February 20

Calling all learners and parents! CSA is continuing to grow and needs to add facilitators for the upcoming 2021-22 school year. We will be conducting a Star Search on Saturday, February 20, where facilitator candidates will have an interview, facilitate a short demo lesson for CSA learners, and be observed by staff and parents. If you are interested in being a part of identifying our new facilitators for next year, please contact our outreach board member, Christina Jeffrey, at christina.jeffrey.board@csacs.org for more details and to sign up.

Our return to in-person learning has gone extremely well thanks to your support and the wonderful learners you share with us. Growing a new school is challenging, exciting and so rewarding, especially with the support of such a superb community of families.

Warm regards,

Suzanne Acheson
School Director
