A Message from the Director

Hello, CSA community!

The holiday season is now in full swing with all of us in that middle time frame between Thanksgiving and winter holidays. During these next few weeks, it is important for us to determine how and when we can return to in-person learning and what that format will look like. In reviewing the information released by the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) and Gov. Polis, the exposure risk among elementary and middle school students is low. The updated COVID-19 levels released just last week indicate that elementary and middle school learners can attend school in-person, remotely, or in a hybrid type of schedule.

Some sort of in-person learning is essential to the academic, social, and emotional well-being of our learners. More importantly, we need to establish a schedule that provides consistency for our learners — one that would be sustainable throughout all of second semester (January – May). In order to do so, we need to hear from you, our CSA community.

CSA Town Hall – December 9 @ 7 p.m.

We want to see our learners in person because this is the preferred way to engage in project-based learning. At present, we do not know if a hybrid type of schedule is best or if some other type of schedule would be warranted. On Wednesday, December 9, we will host a CSA Town Hall online. We want you, our families, to have all the information you need to be confident that your learner, and your family, are in a safe, healthy learning environment upon our return. In addition, you will have the opportunity to ask questions. We think this can best be accomplished with a “CSA Town Hall” meeting. A Zoom link for the CSA Town Hall meeting will be sent to all CSA families via Blackboard Connect on December 3 and again on December 8.

My sincerest thanks to all of you who have reached out to provide your support during this unprecedented time.

Warm regards,

Suzanne Acheson
School Director
