A Message from the Director

Hello, CSA!

We are just three weeks away from kicking off our new year! Although it will be different than any other start to the school year that I’ve ever experienced in my 20+ years in education, it still holds the same excitement, anticipation, and freshness of any new beginning. Families, please be sure to access the “2020-21 School Year” tab on the CSA website for an updated FAQ regarding the start of the school year and what it will look like, schedules, etc. Our administrative team is also working hard to provide the most up-to-date information about our preparations for in-person schooling and the protocols in place to ensure the health and safety of all learners and staff members.

To that end, it is important to share one aspect of our opening plans with all of you. We have received bids from a vendor who provides a state-of-the-art disinfecting and sealant process that repels 99.9% of all viruses for six months. CSA is obtaining a detailed report of the process that will be posted on the website for family review and reference. We are contracting with them to have the disinfection process done in the new building prior to opening up for classes. This process provides our learners and staff with the best environment possible as they begin in-person classes.

An important health element for our learners is their mental, emotional, and social health. Since March, this has been a struggle for America’s youth and it is incumbent on schools like Colorado SKIES Academy to provide a safe environment where these aspects of our learners’ overall health and well-being can be nurtured. The entire CSA staff will be participating in a two-day training titled “Capturing Kids’ Hearts,” equipping them with the tools and resources needed to provide the emotional and mental support our learners need.

Lastly, remember to be available on Monday, August 17, the first day of school! All CSA learners and parents will come to Blue Skies Exploration of Flight, where there is ample room to do the following:

  • Check out your Chromebook and carrying case for the year.
  • Pick up your schedule for online and in-person courses.
  • Meet your facilitators!
  • Get your school picture taken. (Learner IDs will be issued when we begin in-person classes.)

The schedule for August 17 is as follows:
